BBC Radio Sheffield understands Adam Le Fondre will join Reading in the next 24 hours, subject to personal terms and passing a medical.

Exactly the type of signing we need. Young striker with a great record of scoring goals in the lower divisions. Add in Gorkss and Mills and I'm happy with what we now have in.

Not counting my chickens. Don't want another Tommy Smith affair. Fingers, toes and balls crossed though.

So just because they've signed someone, that doesn't mean they were after another? :|

We could well have 'beaten' them, if it has actually happened.

I understand that. But FL was implying that they wouldn't be after him as they had just signed someone else, which isn't automatically the case.

All we need now is a creative midfielder and we could be onto something. David Fox from Norwich anyone?

Im sure West Ham would have been interested - and I agree that signing the other guy wouldnt neccesarily change that.

brilliant signing for us. relatively cheap for a proven goalscorer albeit in the lower leagues.

blatantly obvious our strike force is missing a natural goalscorer and ive got everything crossed that he can be this

our squad looks good now, just a massive shame its taken 4 league games and a carling cup defeat to get the quality in place

Let's not get carried away just yet, it all has gel - we are practically rebuilding a team after all.

Spirit of Elm Park
Negative_Jeff The bloke apparantly is a bit of a poacher with an excellent goal scoring record. Usually this type of player spends much of the game working out how to lose his marker(s).

Sorry chap but that is complete bollocks. Have you ever played? He's a pro. He doesn't have to think about shit like that, he wouldn't have time. He has a style that works for him, he finds space, he uses it. You don't work out how a defender is playing, you let him worry about how you are playing.

A good typical Reading signing if it comes off, i'd be interested to see him play if all i've heard is true.

Of course i played the game clever clogs but that was over 40 years ago. Nice bit of editing but I don`t think it was bollocks to point out the way Lineker, and closer to home Cureton played. I haven`t seen Le Fondre play either but if a couple of our posters are correct and he does turn out to be a latter day Cureton who would be our Butler? ie running the channels, competing for the aerial challenges. drawing the fouls and taking up the outside position for our goal kicks.
