Barry the bird boggler Too many ifs with Hunt, start Manset and Le Fondre.

Two big IFs with Manset as well though aren't there?

Is he good enough?

Can he last more than 60/70 minutes of leading the line and still be capable of making a run when needed?

I think we'd all prefer watching Manset for 60/70 min than Hunt running around for 90 min doing sod all!

Perhaps, if Manset can produce some decent form, which isn't something he's done a lot of so far.

I think you're also overlooking the part Hunt has played in two different successful partnerships, one with Doyle and one with Long. Played with the right partner his workrate, ability in the air and a reasonable scoring record make him a reasonable option at this level. It does need someone pretty good alongside him though.

Do you want to elaborate on that post?

He scored a cracking goal in a half decent cameo against Millwall and had an ok 70 odd minutes in the win up at Leicester. He's since been dropped to be replaced by Robson-Kanu because his all-round performances haven't been all that great.

SouthDownsRoyal thinks it'll take Manset 10 games to score.

leon I can see a Church/Le Fondre partnership. I don't want to, but I can.

I was actually thinking this today too..

so was I - and if Le Fondre is the out and out finisher we don't have and Church could link up the midfield maybe if would suit Church - it would take the pressure off having to score 20 (or 2!) in a season.

Personally I'm not convinced by him yet but that's why I said perhaps if he can produce some form.

50/1 to be top scorer in the Champ this season. Worth an e/w bet.

Archie's penalty http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/readingfc/s/2098994_le_fondre_can_be_reading_fcs_new_cureton Love his positivity!

More awful journalism - mention Curo in the headline and follow it up with the sentence "is confident of becoming a Royals hero like Doyle and Long." Curo's not even mentioned until more than halfway through the article.

I don't care what other people think mate, I've seen enough of Noel Hunt to suggest he's not the player to be in a decent Championship team- I disagree with anyone who said he was decent last season because he simply wasn't- how many goals and assists did he get? I don't rate the man, that's my opinion, I'd be happy to be proved wrong. The only decent partnership he was in was with Doyle (who WAS A LOT BETTER than Long last season). Since his injury he's not been the same player. I compare that with Manset who looks dangerous everytime he gets the ball, Robson-Kanu who is currently our best player at creating things and getting the ball to a teammate's feet, Church who's positioning is the best out of all our strikers (regardless of the goals he hasn't scored and the fact that he has no confidence), and Le Fondre who has been regularly banging in the goals and is high on confidence.

nhunt is a decent championship striker and has proven it over many seasons in a number of partnerships.his goals to games ratio is decent, and if he didnt have a poor injury record hed have proven you wrong over and over again.

is he better than decent t this level? doubt it. but he is definitely decent.

but like you said, you are free to believe any old clap trap you like!
