Svlad Cjelli I don't understand why people are supporting TD : "because he's a fan...."

If I wanted to listen to what is basically one person's opinion when there are the best part of 20,000 there each week who could do the same kind of job.

What I want from a commentator is actual, factual information - I don't think that's too much to expect from someone whose full-time job is to get this and who has privileged access to the club and players, etc). But instead so much of it is just opinion - and ill-informed opinion at that.

Having listened to other local BBC radio commentries over the years Dellor and Gooding are pretty fair by comparison. Just listen to Nick Harris on BBC Oxford and you will know what I mean.

Just because others are as shit as him doesn't mean that we shouldn't be striving for something a lot better.

Agreed. Sit back, take it for what it is, and enjoy it. He isn't Motson, but I doubt he's under that illusion either.

I enjoy Mike Ingham's dulcet tones.

The man is a total embarrassment. Why should be have to put up with his utter drivel week on tedious week?

Whilst I agree that 107 was very average, Dellor is the worst RFC commentator I've heard.

Given his private education, I can't believe this silly man's greatest talent is making a fool of himself and the 4th official remarks were a perfect example......................if you are not sure of the facts (and how many of those who have the slightest interest in doing Dellor's job would not know this :| ) shut the fcuk up

Some may see him as amusing whilst the rest of us believe we are entitled to be listening to a professional or, at the very least, a former player who has played the game at a similar level.

This man has had more than long enough to show that he is up to the task but has failed by all sensible assessments.

I prefer TalkSPORT's commentators with Stan as summariser

Spot on - and the worst is that he doesn't know how wrong is is on so many things, but he'll be so strident and insistent that he's completely right about things. Until after the next break, when he very quietly intimates that perhaps he wasn't right after all and changes the subject.

My only critique is that sometimes he reaches too far to make a point and gets the facts totally wrong.

The best was when he was talking about how the book Moneyball was about the Oakland Raiders winning the World Series to back up his point about how stats can win you things.

The fact it was about the Oakland A's who won their DIVISION but not the World Series didn't seem to matter.

These are the kind of small details I really don't care about. An American team won something because they followed the Moneyball principles. He's got the gist of it.

Just a bit cringe when you know what it's about. It's like saying to an American audience how the Newcastle Falcons won the English Premier League title in 1995/96 thanks to a great attacking philosophy.

Generally don't mind the bloke, always listen to the commentary when I'm at the game, his anecdotes are fairly amusing when you're waiting 45 seconds for Neil Sullivan to take a goal kick. As others have said he does far more at BBC Berks than just commentate on Reading so he's never going to have the time to get everything 100% right, so he's doing a decent job in my book.

I suppose you could try avoiding it by attending matches, instead of listening in on the radio

Whilst I agree that 107 was very average, Dellor is the worst RFC commentator I've heard.
That's a ringing indictment indeed. The worst commentator Woodcote's heard

And some think it's just some bloke on a local radio station, and don't get worked up about it.

This man has had more than long enough to show that he is up to the task but has failed by all sensible assessments.
You mean he fails in your assessment

Have you thought about trying group?
