winchester_royal Did you see him play for West Ham last season Snowy?

If so then you'll have noticed how he looked demotivated, slow, and yes 'past it'.

There are some things that numbers don't tell you.

Agreed, he was simply comical for West Ham. Doubtless at his best he would be one of the Championship's best players. But as to what we actually would have got from him... I'm not too disappointed that we missed out.

So Martin O'Neill is very very very stupid?

winchester_royal Oooh, the old 'he works in football so knows more than you' line eh...

Well in that case we might as well shut down this forum as there's no point in discussing anything to do with football as those in charge always know best.

Pompous cunt.

Yes I know you're pompous, but what does that have to do with anything?

THE POINT IS, please explain, if this player is so BAAAAD why Martin O'Neill thinks he's good enough for the Premiership.

You do agree that Martin O'Neill knows his stuff, yes?

I am SURE you're right and this FB is "gash".

I would just like you to explain how O'Neill can't see what's obvious.

melonhead thats a bit off- i think its ok for someone to point out that martin oneil knows more about football, and the player than you do

Yeah, and I could point out how every other premiership manager who didn't think Bridge was worth signing knows more about football than he does.

I could also point out how Bridge has been more than happy to sit on his 90k wages at City than to go out and play first team football.

I could also point out how one of my best mates is a West Ham fan and was shocked at how useless Bridge was last season. I imagine he knows more about Bridge's demise than Snowball does.

I'm sorry but when it comes to a forum like this we should be able to have a discussion without someone resorting to the 'well he knows more than you therefore he must be right' line.

Otherwise what would be the point of the team board? Given that it would therefore follow that every decision made by the club is the right one...

Kebe is useless
Long is useless and will never be a footballer
Pearce is useless and has the turning circle of an oil-tanker
Bikey is a joke
Cummings is utter gash

how many more do you want?

Football fans are too emotional and the worst judges on the planet

So no manager has ever made a duff signing?

I think O'Neill has panicked, and brought Bridge in as cover in case Richardson gets injured.

Kebe can be useless, depends how motivated he is on a given day.
Pearce has been championed by many on this board.
As was Bikey, some just considered him a liability, as demonstrated by the Burnley play-off game
Cummings was utter gash under Rodgers.

Some football fans are too emotional, some are thick, and some are rational and knowledgeable. Get off your high horse.

Not to mention he likes to dish out the abuse himself e.g:

Snowball Is Bothroyd not a similar type of player to Roberts?

I always thought the best pairing was "Smash" and "Grab"

Until recently we had "Annoy" and "Excuse me, did you drop this?" (When Alf didn't play)

Do you have some stats to illustrate your point? <<<<<<<<<<<

Yes. You are 100% tosser

No, I RETALIATE. There's a difference.

When 90% of YOUR posts get attacked, will see how you cope.

Of course, first people would need to take enough interest to read them...

oxf*rd all about motivation. some days things come off, especially when hes fit, and had a run in the team, and his confidence is high
somedays things dont come off, especially when coming back from injury, and low on confidence

his body language is always shit- & hes always "trying"

and i dont remember him being useless for years

All managers get it wrong at some point, just cos O'Neill thinks it will be good for Sunderland does not mean it will.

Never thought that much about Wayne Bridge probably because he's the most one footed player in history. He's a steady enough left back that has been paid far too much over the years for a less than spectacular ability.

Reading could have done with another left back but I'm not sure Bridge is the answer, don't think he has the hunger or desire anymore and wouldn't offer that much more than Harte, especially as it would only be a short term thing anyway. Sunderland may as well take a punt, he'll be their Ian Harte, experienced reliable defender that if and when needed can do a job. At Reading he'd be expected to be a difference maker, not sure he's ever had that in the locker.

You don't need a superstar at left back, you need a reliable defender that has the fitness levels to get up and down the pitch to help support attacks. You need your big money players at the top end of the pitch around the opppo's goal, not around your own, at this level anyway.

agreed, he's never been the same since the potent john terry made love to his mrs several times and gave her the orgams bridge couldn't, feels way less of a man these days I bet.
