Charlie Nicholas suggesting today he was head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch. Went as far as to suggest he may get a chance in the PL next year - with 7 subs, who knows!

sandman He's done nothing in a Reading shirt. I'm no means Kan('nt d)u's biggest fan but a couple of good loan spells at League 1 clubs does not make Antonio better than him.

He's had some decent games in a Reading shirt. I'm not saying he's 100% definately better than HRK, but I do think that he's done enough to push him out of the team and get a chance.

SWFC defo want to keep him. I'd say, let them have him for as much as they will stump up! And put that towards the Sig!

I still rate HRK a fair bit higher than Antonio (only based on what I've seen) but I think he has plenty of potential. I liked what I saw when he came in for the injured Kebe three games in a row, and he got better with each appearance. For someone so quick his strength is excellent and I love the little skills here and there.

Massive lol at your man crush over him. Not good enough in just about all of his performances so far for Reading m9. A JPT cup final win with Southampton and promotion with Sheff Wed = couple of good loan spells. He's still young so can improve but he needs a permanent move to progress as a player and a person.

harryroyal Haydyn Mullins says he wants to come back to us.

He struck me as solid and got better, and if he was already on the books I'd have no problem
(and he might be a reasonably cheap option)

But surely we have to get a seriously good midfielder to push us on?

This 25-man rule is a killer

3 Keepers ......... Feds, McArthy, Andersen
4 Fullbacks ........ Cummings, Harte, Plus 2
4 Centre-backs... Pearce, Gorks, Connolly? A N Other? Plus Morrison qualifies as an under-21?
4 Wingers.......... Kebe, McAnuff (HRK? Antonio?)
5 CMs ............... Karacan, Elwood, Tabb, PLUS TWO, (Mullins) one star?) Plus Obita qualifies as an under-21
5 Strikers ......... Roberts, Hunt, ALF, One Prem Striker, (plus Church?)... Sheppard qualifies as an under-21

I presume we can have players on the books for FA/League Cup games etc?

In the event of a long-term injury to one of the "Prem-25" are we allowed to transfer
a registration out and bring one in (from our own "reserves"?

I'm still unclear about loan-signings. If Arsenal loan a player to us is he part of OUR
25 and "off their books"?

We would only be able to change our "25" before the 1st of September and from 1st Jan- 1st Feb, although for keepers there's a different rule.

And yes he would be off Arsenal's books and in our "25". Provided he was over the age of 21 obviously.

Sheffield Wednesday fans seem confident they've bid £750k for Antonio, and they're also planning an ambitious £2.5m bid for Jordan Rhodes.

If reasonable and fair money like this is involved, the club shouldn't stand in his way.

What does Antonio want? Has he been interviewed anywhere?

Oi, Antonio has got a long........ throw.
Stoke have achieved mid table with delap, antonio is definitely a better player, with a shorter throw, but still longer than most, if that makes any sense at all (i'm confused!)

If we can get 6 players of quality in these positions then it will represent an excellent summer.

Fingers crossed.

Snowball Hope we hang on to Antonio for another season.

Just noticed his stats at Sheffield Wednesday

Prior to his arrival there they had lost 4 games on the trot

and since?

Won 10 D3 L 0 25-7

This post is Snowball in a nutshell.

You realise that Wednesday switched managers one game into Antonio's loan spell? Without knowing any of the context or considering any other possible explanation for their upturn you use the bare stats as an argument for keeping hold of a player.

Where in my post EXACTLY do I USE the stats to formulate a view of the player?

How exactly do you make the erroneous connection you make?

Yes, I realise Dave Jones went there, good manager. And the first thing he did was play Antonio.

I NOTE the stats. (But never USED the stats to make any claim.)
I NOTE, also that the Wednesday fans rate the guy highly.
I NOTE, also that the very good manager selected him for every game.
I NOTE, also that Antonio got MotM's
I NOTE, also that Antonio got 5 goals and a couple of assists in 14 appearances, very good for a winger, and would translate to 16/17 goals 7 assists in a season.
I NOPE, also, that Sheffield Wednesday are keen to keep the lad.

With respect Snowball, it's pretty obvious why RR, or anyone for that matter, might come to the conclusion that the stats had formulated your view of the player, because you stated that we should keep him, and then cited the statistical improvements in Sheffield Wednesday's results since he joined them.

The goal keeper situation is an interesting one. The other day I was thinking that we should get at least one of McCarthy or Andersen out on loan for the season at Championship level if not both of them and we could sign a veteran keeper like Everton did with Marcus.
