M-U-R-T-Y Gylfi Sigurdsson

BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS: #readingfc join the race for Gylfi Sigurdsson BUT I must emphasise, it's ONLY an offer. It doesn't mean we'll get him! But we want him back." From @Fridays_Legacy (AN ITK) on twitter

I still can't for the life of me see this happening but this post gave me a massive twinge in my boxers I must admit

Pete10 Reading have first option to buy him lets see what happens.

do you know this or is this just bullsh*t?

Am lead to believe that if he was for sale, Reading would have a option on him .Just like a sell on clause.

blueroyals If a top 8 club come in for him then he will sign for them. Anybody else and I think he'll sign for us. Thankfully we've got our bid in relatively early. I think it could take a few days for Liverpool to get a bid together, all Rogers has to do is give Gylfi a ring and tell him to hold off for a few days to join him at Liverpool and that will be that though. It all hinges on whether Rogers wants him.

I am not convinced about this. Gylfi could get lost at Liverpool as they have a lot of quality players already. If he wants to shine surely being the best player in a team like RFC would be the way to get noticed. I think he would fit in much better at Man U or Arsenal and he stands more chance of that if he gets a hatful of goals with us. I think this might have been his logic in joining Swansea.

Logically you're 100% correct, but you know what footballers are like...

If Rogers is given anywhere near the budget that Dalglish was given, maybe he won't even bother with Gylfi?

I don't think Brenda can buy Gylfi now.

Given how close he was to signing him for Swansea, the scouse nation will see him as a Swansea level signing - nowhere near good enough for Liverpool*.

* Scousers being stupid and all.

Hearing that Gylfi has known about the potential change in manager for the past week and will sign for Swansea as planned in the morning.

Is the medical taking place tonight then, because he didn't turn up for it as planned today.

oh dear Andrew

Sounds like a case of saying it enough times in the hope you will believe it. YOu are living in a fools paradise.

If Liverpool come in for him, he will go there..END OF!

They will pay him far more than we could ever afford, and he may not get an opportunity like this again. Despite Liverpool's current woes, they are still one of Europe's biggest clubs and have far more financial muscle and pulling power than us, stop trying to delude yourself.

I think the biggest factors will be if Brenda decides he has ample attacking options and needs to concentrate what funds he has elsewhere, or whether or not anybody else comes in for him.

Hmmmm, I was just thinking. Huge signing? Will send the board into meltdown? Would show "intent" in a big way. Could it be? Nawwwwww, waaaaaaaaaay too much money would be needed. Name hasn't really come up in rumors either. Couldn't be someone like him. But if it were it would justify a whole bunch of these        out of everyone.

Well I think we'll find out something soon enough, prolly later today even. If I am correct I'll let you know and if not I will tell you who I was thinking of so you can laugh at me and tell me I must've been high...

But even if it isn't him, and say someone ("only") like Defoe we'll still be acquiring a current England international and justify the statement of the club showing "intent". And then prolly getting either Gylfi, Long or Bertrand back? I am mildly excited by the prospects of all of this... :D
