mr_number Everyone's got awfully optimistic suddenly, haven't they. Even my dad, who's only ever been to one football match (Notts County at home, 1-0, lovely Ian Richardson OG) and doesn't really care, decided last night that we're going to win the next two, and move towards being a comfortable mid-table team.

Green

mr_number It was certainly in the first couple of years at the Madejski.

I think it may have been the furthest out I've ever seen a header scored from.

Yep definitely the furthest out I've seen

I've seen one or two further out but it was pretty far.

Check out Mr Big Shot.

When you've seen headed goals from as far out as Greeners, there's not much more that football can offer you.

Snowball I will be utterly amazed if we win our next two

I think there's a 61% chance that we will do at least as well as 3 points from them; but win them both? I agree, only a 7.5% chance

Or indeed life really. Bit depressing actually.

I'm not sure I'd be happy with 4 from those four. But I think we could afford to lose one without a lot of hurt providing we win one of the others. So I'm looking for a minimum of 5 points. Anything above a point against Utd and Arsenal and I could probably settle for a win and two loses or all four draws.

Points from the top teams aren't as important as points off the bottom teams, because any points we win from the strugglers, they can't have themselves.

Ian, maybe people are presuming defeats by Arsenal and man Utd,
and THEN 4 points mean a WD versus Wigan-Villa... and THAT I would take

Obviously people are expecting to lose against those two. And I will be disappointed with WD versus Wigan and Villa and losing to both Sunderland and Saints. Or otehr similar combinations or drawing with all four.

Surely we need the Rougeometer to give us the definite percentages on such outcomes

MmmMonsterMunch Would be over the moon with 2 wins 2 defeats from those 4. Preferably 2 home wins to keep fortress Mad Stad ticking over nicely.

All 4 games mentioned are away.

Four points would be outstanding but I'd honestly be happy with two, just to stop the teams we're playing picking up maximums at our expense.

A point away from home anywhere in the league should be considered a good result in my opinion.

in those matcches i bet we could fairly easily pull 3 wins and a draw or 3 wins and a loss. or at very very worst 2 wins a draw and a loss.

I think that the Villa game will be the toughest. I can see us getting:

Wigan - Win
Villa - Lose
Sunderland - Draw
Southampton - Win

And I would be very happy with that

Don't care how we achieve it but as long as there is a gap below us to the relegation zone come the end of this spell I'll be delighted.

That seems a fair punt to me.

6 points from these 4 matches would give us 15 points from 15 games - on track for 38 points which most years would be good enough for safety.

7 points from them would put us on track for over 40 points.
