Cummings - interesting stats....

by royal67 » 21 Dec 2012 12:11

Shaun obviously has more about him than some posters on here would have us believe:

- Defender Shaun Cummings may find himself under the scrutiny of the England management if he continues to turn in performances like those in the first half of the season. He has an incredible tackle success rate of 92% and has the best foul-to-tackle ratio in the league, conceding only once every 12 tackles.

Has he actually made 12 tackles? - because he's usually 30 yards from the bloke he should be marking.

Midfielder Mikele Leigertwood continues to be Reading’s most consistent force in the engine room this season, racking up a squad-high 245 successful passes in the opponent’s half this season.

1. Consistently.... shit.
2. Force- As in he is not visible on the pitch and the opposition just walk past him.
3. Engine must be a FIAT engine
4. racking up a squad high 245... He would be well in the 500's if he could actually pass more than a 5 yard pass and after receiving it again not losing the ball.

Got to laugh at how he continues to play!

I agree. I think the problem down our RHS is more a lack of protection from midfield, coupled with a lack of conviction in the CB positions.

Pretty sure the majority of our goals come from the LW // RB position..

Leigertwood makes 13 successful passes in the opposition half per game then. That doesn't sound that high to me.

As for Cummings, his percentage being high is one thing, it doesn't mean his making all the tackles he should so it's a bit of daft measure.

Watching his against arsenal he was atrocious. Like he never played before, I'm sure he is a nice guy, but his footballing skills are as good as a chocolate teapot

TBF - he does actually tackle well, and rarely gives away a foul. His problem is that he ball watches, isn't aware of whats going on around / behind him, and is always caught out with the diagonal ball in behind him. We've shipped loads of goals this season due to him being caught flat footed.

So basically he only makes a tackle when he's certain to get it right.

From the BBC Web site: According to Opta, Reading have now faced 306 shots at goal - more than any other side in the top five European leagues this season.

Part of a back four that has faced 306 shots this season, good player you are having a laugh.

In fact, against Young/Podolski/Gibbs it was more like 50 yards, and shitting it ......

Monday was without a doubt his Worse game since arriving at the club. Terrible. Opposition aside he couldn't pass a few yards. Think BM kept him on as he would have got some stick by fans on departing ...

He seems to be slowly getting worse each game.
