More on the potential new signing at the Madejski Stadium, Sky Sports understands Reading are poised to sign highly-rated Crawley Town midfielder Hope Akpan. Akpan is currently undergoing a medical at the Premier League club and is expected to sign a three-and-a-half year deal to join Brian McDermott's side. The former Everton youngster is thought to have impressed Reading during the FA Cup clash between the two sides on Saturday.

This deal lokos set to go ahead, and as much as its not a player with great experience we should try to be positive, BMC's transfer record is pretty good and i would say any player he has signed for the first team as been succesful, so we have no reason to doubt that this wont also be a success
