I am enjoying this season enormously. Great to see the club you have supported for God knows how many years getting mullered every week......but...

Where did I see a quote on Sunday that claims that in all the top 5 divisions in Europe, RFC have had more shots against them than any other club. Now that's entertainment if nothing else.

Tokyo Sex Whale "Oooh lets BELIEVE in the team and spur them on by transmitting positive energy from 7th sun of Mars crossing in front of Venus in order to achieve survival - lets use our miiiinds".

Pathetic. We're relegated.

If we don't go down I'll streak from the east stand naked with my finger up my ass across the pitch attempting to climb the west stand and windmill my tiny penis in front of Antons mrs.

loyalroyal4life We'll do well to win 3 of the remaining games!! Having said that anyone think we can grab 4 wins and a draw????

which surely would be the cruellest way to go down - we'd have given ourselves some hope only to have it cruelly dashed.

Nope. I want us to lose all 7 :D

That's what hurts about the revival in January - the hope it gave us. We hauled ourselves up into a much better position - and then it all evaporated again.

Well you're a pathetic fan if you give up on your team like that while it might seem realistically unlikely we will stay up, the fans should be getting behind the team they love no matter what and showing a bit of belief in the players. The attitude you show there is not one of someone who supports their team through thick and thin. So I'd say you're attitude as a fan towards the team is pretty pathetic IMHO.

I'm a fan and also a realist.

I support my CLUB through thick and thin but turning up with your rublestix and smiling in the face of mis management that has led to relegation makes you a pleb and if it was a stadium full of happy clappers like you it'd be far more damaging than people having a realistic voice when things aren't going well. You support your club for life and if a team needs telling how shit it is then we should be able to have an opinion on this.

Have a voice, and use it for the better of the club rather than being a mong.

IMHO

you have your voice and will use it as you see fit.

but it wont help the players play better, will lift the opposition, wont change how the owner runs the club, and makes you look a tit

Tokyo Sex Whale It is completely irrelevant. Even if the players start to play better now we're done.

I wouldn't be negative at a game and would still support the team for 90 mins, but I wouldn't be completely ignorant like some on here.

OK apart from IdeaLOL who are we talking about here?

personally, if we are doing post mortems early- while weve been predominantly rubbish, and its depressing now to see us so far behind. but for me you cant fault the entertainment levels this season, considering the lack of wins. had some cracking games. leading at stamford bridge, getting the draw vs chelsea, ive never seen a game like the arsenal one, going at united and really shocking them. finally getting a win at newcastle, battling so hard and nearly getting a draw at the champions, last minute goals to win, or draw games.

so we go down. meh.
its been the usual RFC rollercoaster, which is why i love football. not for glory, or money, or big players, or sky TV.
following RFC on the whole has been mostly pain and humiliation, punctuated by brief slices of wonder and glory. and this season has been no different.

I want to echo what Brendy said!!
I supported us in all four divisions since 1967 - I was one of only 1600-odd people who turned up to watch us play Port Vale in Div 4, I have also stood in the pouring rain to watch games against the likes of Workington. I've had many more lows than highs supporting Reading, and i don't really see that changing very soon. Last season was a real high, leading to this season which although hasn't exactly been a glorious high, hasn't been too much of a low.
I hate it when people say things like 'I'm a realist so I'm going to be a miserable b*stard'. For me, and you can call me unrealistic or whatever you like, I will not believe we are down until it is mathematically certain - we have seven games left and we can win them all. I don't care if it's by luck or divine intervention, but it IS possible. If it does happen I will be disappointed, as will most Reading fans, but at least I will keep my optimism until the end.

Disagree, Syd. If we managed 13 points and went down 3rd-bottom, it would mean that confidence would
have returned and the squad would have increased faith, ready to start next season running

I agree too. The 'dead cat bounce' phase of Reading Time from WBA through to Sunderland was absolutely brilliant to witness.

Even if you blame Anton, Hammond or whoever else in the stands, I can't see how you should blame or boo the players. They might not be particularly good, but they've tried. And I'll always cheer a trier at RFC, even if he's outclassed. Which is what makes me sick about the Ledge-haters. Seems to me that he's a good man. No less effort than last year when he was a major factor in our success, how dare the pissed up wannabees in the crowd jeer. It's gutless.

Nice wind-up though, TSW.

Well said. It amuses me to see L-Wood leading the WORST player poll, while 4th in the BEST player poll.

Just proves that 95% of the people on this board wouldn't know a footballer if he bit them on the arse

One example. In the Arsenal game L-Wood lost the ball but even the MotD pundits
]said it was a hospital ball from Shorey. Meanwhile upfield Guthrie plays a diabolical
ball to an Arsenal player when there was a safe and easy ball outside to Shorey, but
hoop merely calls that a misunderstanding. Sure, Hoop

Top post. Remember this is our 3rd ever season in the best league in the world and we did unbelievably well to get here on a nothing budget last season (albeit with a incredible manager and the helping hands of Mr Zingeravich in the latter part). My first ever Royals game was the Wigan home play-off semi final, incredible game, never thought I'd see the likes of Rooney, RVP, Gerrard, Henry, Owen play at the Madejski.

Seen the good and bad of some fans this season, good being Arsenal away & Sheff Utd home, where they respected Rocastle's anniversary and Armstrong's tribute brilliantly, then the bad (Villa home game, don't need to say anymore on that as I am still fuming with some of the crowd that day). Can't see us staying up as I think we had to beat Wigan & Villa but anything is possible (as someone rightly pointed out Fulham from 2008). Will keep backing the team until the last day. If not then next season is a exciting one, enjoy being a Reading fan, it's worth the ride!

agreed- theyre not wrong though.
it seems mental that we could get out of this with just 4 wins and 2 draws
and not impossible in any way given the teams we have to play

its eminently doable!

We HAVE to win on Saturday. Nothing else will do. And we HAVE to beat QPR, and get at least a point against Liverpool. Two wins out of three against Fulham (imperious at home), Norwich and West Ham is a tall order as well, and that leaves the City game as well.
