leon Barry the bird boggler Until NA is backed by the board in what he wants to do here there is little point in having a go at him. We need to wait until the mess that is masquerading as ownership gets sorted and hopefully then we'll see things start to develop as he is expecting.
disagree - this is all about Adkins. He sets the team up and tells them what to do. They looked like they didn't have a clue this afternoon.
Adkins isn't responsible for Pearce passing the ball straight into touch from ten yards away, or for Guthrie's inept free kicks, or for McCarthy kicking the ball straight out, or for Le Fondre not touching the ball after coming on.
He has to take some responsibility but, even with all the injuries, the eleven we are putting on the pitch should be capable of producing far better than the utter dross they have served up this season. On paper, our front six is a match for any in the division yet game after game they appear incapable of creating anything whatsoever. These players need to take a long look at themselves and accept they are underpermoning. Including Le Fondre who, for all his wingeing, has been pretty ineffective whenever he has been played, leading scorer or not. The odd tap in doesn't justify him contributing nothing for the rest of the game.
The players are good enough, the manager has an excellent track record so, we can presume, does know what he's doing, so what is wrong? The last time I recall us underperforming as badly as this was under Burns when, as now, we had an owner who wasn't in the country. I won't profess to know why the ownership issue has an impact on the pitch, but I'm pretty convinced it does (maybe a complacency through the club that the man paying the bills isn't watching) and no change of manager or tinkering with the personnel on the pitch in Januray is going to change that.
