Zana Badawi As for the playoffs, I'm as stunned as anybody that its looking like we're going to end 6th; and I too have this half feeling that we might spawn the playoffs, but we must go into them as heavy outsiders based on this form.

:|

We are higher in the form table than every other team in a playoff position.

First half was one of the worst halves of football I've seen for a while, absolutely no quality on display from either team. Drenthe was particularly poor but the heavily watered pitch didn't help anyone. The second half was significantly better with a lot more urgency in Reading's passing which opened Charlton up a lot more. I thought Pog and Williams were excellent in the second half and Guthrie did pretty well too. We also looked better when McCleary came on for Royston.

Overall a good away result but lol at the idea of this team in the Premier League.

Wimb We were playing 4-4-2 at home and it was still getting beat by Blackburn etc...

Fair enough we don't always win when 442, but whilst I like Adkins it shocks and frustrates me that a team desperate for points opts for anything other than 442 at home.

I've not been on HNA for a while so am guessing others have made this point somewhere.

Schards#2 Williams MOM, Drenthe shambles of the match

Rare, rare agreed with Schards.

Drenthe is not fit/fast/bothered enough to play in that position either.

Thought the atmosphere was great today, met a couple of German tourists in the train on the way to the match, and there were two American girls in the concourse who appeared to be enjoying their first football game, glad both groups got to see a vintage performance from the Reading faithful.

No really, because it was obvious 4-4-2 wasn't working when we changed and that change was laregely forced.

Pog was out for a while if you recall and Alf had started a string of games without impressing. Given they are the only strikers we have worth mentioning it meant 4-4-2 was no longer an option. Particularly with the midfield we had available as well.

although personally I would say we did play 4-4-2 in our last home game with HRK as a striker.

Created the goal as much as Guthrie or Williams did by taking a defender out with his run and telling Guthrie to play Williams into the space he'd created.

I was also about to comment. Thought he had a decent game. As above, created space and held the ball up well.

I guess you can take it several ways

- at least we'd be there, despite the fact that by all accounts we have a bunch of over paid underachieving players, a clueless manager and a disinterested egomaniacal chairman
- much bigger lol at QPR, Forest, Watford, Leeds , Brighton and all the other 'massive' clubs enjoying another championship battle
- ££££££££££
- buyers fighting to get their hands on a Premiership club

If we get into the premier league we'll have Karacan back, convinced without his injury we'd be in a much more comfortable position, and looking a lot better.

Very underrated midfielder for us.

Three Feyenoord fans came over from Rotterdam to see Royston play.
Don't think they were much impressed by his catastrophic failure of a career.

From the MOTD highlights it was good that Alfie wasn't greedy and signalled the pass through to Williams, even though he was in a pretty good position himself.

Surely they would've known how far his career had sunk before they decided to come and watch him play for Reading in the English second tier.

Don't get me wrong, I hope we do get promoted, but without significant investment we would get less points than we did last time.

Maybe they assumed he was at least tearing up the Championship.

Good day out spoilt by the football on display. The players just do not look up for it playing under NA, guy does not have any logical tactics.

Dropping Morrison shows he made a mistake playing him last game. No doubt he will change the team again on Tuesday
