I'd love to see Reading in a cup final but relegation to League 1 would set us back so much, not to mention still having to put up with high earners on even less income, not that I think for a second we'll be relegated even if we somehow make it to the final.

We have one of the best youth setups in the country - out of adversity comes opportunity

That's the only positive I could see out of relegation, more chance to blood the youngsters and they would be competitive at League One level, but we'd never be able to afford a Category 1 set up in League One either.

FFP doesn't affect money put into facilities though does it?

They could but would they? I could see them going ahead with the proposed new training facilities but in league one sustaining cat 1 would just be a massive loss.

I'd agree with the poster who said they'd take a semi final appearence. In fact give me a 1/4 final away at an interesting venue, a match day ticket, and guaranteed promotion back up to the championship next season and I'd take that.

No contest for me - absolutely. An FA Cup Final would be a fantastic memory that can never be taken away and we would have next season's League 1 promotion bid to look forward to as well. At least Pog might be great at that level and one of the highest paid League 1 players in history to boot - or with a bit of luck he might decide to go in the summer!

I don't know why people get so worked up over the football. The best part of the day isn't the game, it's exploring the different pubs, throwing a bit of plastic furniture about and enjoy a drink or two. Imagine spending a long weekend in Spain watching Reading. The football itself is a sideshow. It wouldn't bother me whether we lost to Chesterfield or Brighton. Chesterfield away many moons ago was a fantastic trip for us.

After all, being in League One has been an unqualified disaster for teams like Southampton hasn't it?

No. I think it's too close to call whether we'd recover from relegation given our finances and the little we know about the owners.

The longterm is more important because a final appearance will consol me for only a year or so whilst watching us play in League One.

A win would be totally different, I'd take that with relegation in a heartbeat. I'd take just the Final if our financial position were aliitle more solid. I could see Pog staying and crippling us as we lose all our youngsters to better placed teams as we can no longer afford cat 1.

Ive had days out at wembley, so that of itself isn't a draw.

Maybe if it was us vs someone shitter, like Bradford. But the likes of Arsenal? No chance.
