... not a lot more left now to finish off the NL for 14-15

- a rarity though - a team finishing 2nd prevailing in the Play offs

Boreham Wood bt Whitehawk 2-1 aet this PM at their Meadow Park ground.

...... they'll make their debut at Conference Premier level along with other STEP ONE newcomers Guiseley who came from two down to bt Chorley 3-2 in the Northern Final.

I'm still grubbing around the basement levels of the Pyramid until the games finally run out mid-May but won't get too hardcore-anorak for you all 8)

Some local Reading Sunday League finals tomorrow (Sunday 10th and the following week 17th) at Scours Lane - games KO at 10:30 & 15:00

Then Tue and Wed night this week two more at Madejski (19:00 KOs - free parking)

- May 12th - Berks Trophy Centre: Marlow Utd v Aldermaston - co-incidentally these two brought the curtain down on the Thames Valley League this PM - resulting in a surprise 5-1 reverse for this season's Champions United.

... followed the next night (13th) by Reading YMCA v Whitley Tavern in the Tilehurst Charity Final.

Somehow, the thought of Guiseley and Borehamwood in the Conf Prem does not light up my day.

+ 1 to this

Good to see Drax's final game ended with an emphatic win.

Interested to see how Margate do in the Ryman Prem playoffs (whenever they eventually play), may finally go to a Maidenhead game next season if they go up!

Lovely stuff. Truro v Lowestoft, even further than Plymouth v Carlisle. How on earth do they afford this?

I know the above is only a might look example but I can't see Lowestoft Town transferring from FCN to FCS ahead of a team like Gloucester City in anyone's world.

As far as im aware, Gloucester are happy in the North due to easy motorway links, rather than travelling to Essex/Kent every other week.
Lowestoft want to be in the South as most games are a trip down the A12.

Maidenhead United FC have announced a fantastic season ticket offer for the 2015/2016 season. Adults will pay just £100 for their season tickets, equivalent to only £4.77 a game. Concessions will be charged £60 (£2.86 per game) and under 16s once again will be able to watch for free if they sign up to join the Junior Magpies.

On top of that match day prices will be frozen at just £10 for adults and £6 for concessions (Senior Citizen, UB40, NUS) and Under 16s £2. Supporters will continue to be admitted to the new stand at no extra charge. Please visit the club's website where you can download forms from the Club News tab. It promises to be an exciting season ahead with Alan Devonshire back in charge at York Road.

You can't argue with that

You mean a league that actually listens to what their member clubs want

Maidenhead ticket prices great for people who'd get a season ticket but most non league clubs don't need to go for them but for the floating fan. £10 to see a non league side on a whim is not going to cut it for most people!

£100 for the season is excellent though.

But as a result of not paying to get in on the day, without realising it, many of those STHs will end up spending a bit more in the ground than they might otherwise have done.

Agreed, an excellent initiative, presumably aimed at converting infrequent visitors to STHs. I'd imagine that £10 a game is decent for Conf South level, it's that much in the Southern Prem.

Am sure the tenner is in line with other clubs. It's still not going to convert many to non league. How do we fix that? Not sure. It's one of many frustrations i have with non league!

Be really good if Maidenhead's home games largely didn't clash with Reading's...

I really struggle to believe there are too many adults thinking of going to a non-league game who'd say £8 was fine, but £10 is just too much.

It's more of a mental barrier than a financial one! I know for a fact in a wealthy town like Windsor people don't think what windsor charge is value for money.
