Putting the points deduction aside. We'd still have been in the mix for relegation on Monday. Perhaps Andy Carroll is Colin's mate..........

I was never really that bothered about him until he was manager of Leeds. The game at the SCL when we last won the league. He sent the team out to kick us off the park. Some of the tackles were disgraceful especially Michael Brown who put Karajan in to hospital with dangerous scissors tackle which could have ended his career. He gets results granted but he is a dinosaur from a bygone age which you can get away with in the EFL. And why he never succeeded in the Premiership.

As much as I loath Colin (he really is a nasty piece of work; I was not that far behind him when he clearly instructed one of his players to break Sidwell's leg for example) I do not believe that there was collusion between him and his ex clubs to enable Huddersfield to stay up.

Don't forget that both Cardiff and Sheffield United where already mentally "on the beach" (as the cliche goes) and I think that is a better explanation for those results not going our way.

The reality is this; Colin managed to motivate a group of under-performing players to start to play close to their potential just in time, which allied to our disastrous plummet in form, and to QPR, Cardiff and Rotherham all doing enough to get more points than us after our deduction and we are where we are.

Accept it and move on.

But at what cost?

He was retired and extremely doubtful he would have come to Reading as he doesn’t seem to like us for some reason, think he only answered the call from Huddersfield as he has connections and friends still there.

Not so....

But he said on the radio he always had a soft spot for us and would take the job if it was offered at the time the job was vacant. Unfortunately we went for Ince and didn't even call him.
Wouldn't have mattered what he cost.....we pretty much must have known the accounts wouldn't balance...few quid more wouldn't have hurt.

Really? In that case what on earth were the club thinking by even talking to Ince in the first place, knowing Neil Reading would have survived last year and quite possibly been sat in the top half of the table this season.

But then I forgot, Reading and recruiting managers just don’t seem to go together.
