Of all the potential interesting draws we could have got and we got that.

Good experience for the kids I suppose.

That's an absolutely top draw for Cray Valley Paper Mills.

I'd guess the following games are potential TV matches:
Clyde1998 Chesterfield [5] v Portsmouth [3]
Bolton Wanderers [3] v Solihull Moors [5]
Charlton Athletic [3] v Cray Valley Paper Mills [8]
Crewe Alexandra [4] v Derby County [3]
Marine [7] v Harrogate Town [4]
Barnsley [3] v Horsham [7]
Billericay Town [7] or Sheppey United [8] v Walsall [4]
Bristol Rovers [3] v Chelmsford City [6] or Whitby Town [7]
Stockport County [4] v Worksop Town [7]
Bromley [5] v Blackpool [3]
Cambridge United [3] v Bracknell Town [7]

One of the best draws they could've got - only a three mile trip too.

Ascotexgunner At least we are at home.

Tbf, I think playing Milton Keynes away would've been better from a fans point of view. On paper, we should get through that tie at least.

There's seven non-league teams guaranteed to be in the second round - two guaranteed to be from the National League regional leagues or lower. If we do get through, we could still get an interesting FA Cup draw this season...

Trouble is Reading have to give half the gate money to the franchise. Still at least it's not away from home so they might have a chance of winning.

The cameras will opt for Chesterfield, Billericay or Sheppey and Charlton.

Exciting draw for Bracknell though. Shame it wasn't a home draw though.

Stat attack fwiw, with the lowest ranked sides this year into the first round being from the eighth tier, like Cray Valley Paper Mills - only two teams, Chasetown in 2007/08, and Marine in 2020/21, from that level of the pyramid have ever reached the third round of the FA Cup. Marine's tie with Spurs infamously played behind not very closed doors during covid, as fans stood in their back gardens to watch over tiny, or non-existent, stands.

Second season in a row that Bracknell have made the first round, which is some going for a seventh tier side.

Down one side of Marine's Rossett Park ground, you will see numbers written on the perimeter fence. These correspond to the house numbers on Rossett Rd so they know which gardens to retrieve stray balls from.

Have to work on their performances/results in the first round though. Made it 3 times in their history and are still waiting to score a goal. Sadly can't see it improving at the Abbey Stadium but then it is the cup.....
