Think it was based on someone claiming they saw Sam Smith in Huddersfield, with photographic evidence of someone who definitely wasn't Sam Smith.

Not sure he’d be in Huddersfield if Bolton were looking at him anyway

I’d say there is a chance that he could move there. Whether they are interested or not is a different matter

Yeh sorry, misread your post. Although still think it's a case of putting 2+2 together based on an unfounded rumour. Huddersfield were (not) in for Smith, but went for Charles instead, so now Bolton will go for Smith.

Yeah, he's been at Barnsley first half of the season.

No suprise at all. Seems to have totally lost the plot there and a thoroughly unpleasant chap to go with it

Yeah, if you're an all round dickhead you have to keep winning games or you have no goodwill.

Rotherham have signed Louie Sibley on loan. They've been quietly sneaking up the table and could be a good outside shout for the playoffs.

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jay Matete has been handed a three-match ban for violent conduct.

The FA has handed out this punishment for an incident in the 91st minute of Tuesday's home defeat to Charlton Athletic.

On loan from Sunderland, Matete, 23, was booked by referee Jacob Miles, but that has now been upgraded after the footage was watched again with Matete appearing to stamp on a Charlton player.

He accepted the charge and will now miss Bolton's matches against Huddersfield Town, Northampton Town and Reading.

Don't know anything about the player but he'll miss the game against us

We’ll probably just have their “new manager bounce” to cope with instead.
