Just thought it ironic that Smith has been gone less than a week and is already forgotten !
Can really only work out if they are thin on the ground if we know how many returnees there have been. It’s not that common and if a loan deal is involved in either spell probably not a valid comparison.
Who else has returned ?
Shorey, Kitson

Did we resign Gylfi in the end or is that still just a rumour ?

Context is important too. Did they return as someone right at the end of their career and past it, or crippled by injury.

Cardiff have signed Will Alves, a promising young winger, on loan from Leicester.

Given Yaks didn't make the Cardiff squad at the weekend he could be surplus to requirements...

NH: "Yak was a fan favourite here and is a really good player who keeps in contact. We have to be realistic, he is playing in the Championship and featuring week-in and week-out."

Gary Peters - pretty good both times
Dave Kitson - outstanding first, not outstanding second
Nicky Shorey - awesome first bash, not quite the same second

Didn't Glen Little have 3 spells? Pretty sure he had loans either side of his permanent stint.
