Quick Question - Stadium Atmosphere

by Sebastian the Red » 16 Aug 2025 11:39

Hello all

Having previously been a regular attendee for the best part of two decades, work and family took me away and I am returning for the first time in nearly ten years.

Do the club still provide Rumblestix, or, with recent budget cuts, is it now necessary for us to supply our own? I don't want to be caught out.

Thanks in advance.

Upon arrival at the stadium, you will be provided with a single set of RumbleStix per person, a match day programme in full colour, a jester hat with bells and a pack of blue and white balloons - you are required to inflate these yourselves. You can also buy a copy of the Whiff from a dodgy looking bloke on Shooter's Way, and Foster's is available at half time from a student with small fridge strapped to their back.

Half and half scarfs are only available in the event of being drawn against Premier League opposition.

Hope this helps!

It’s also advised that you bring a thermos flask of tea and a wear a fleece because it can get chilly even in August. If you decide to leave the game early or arrive late the stadium also has great access to B&Q for any DIY or home landscaping you may want to do. If you can find a bus to take you to the game from West Reading, and the Oxford Road isn’t too busy with worshippers you make want to pop into the Nags Head for a nice Coors Lite, but it’s a bit like god’s waiting room in there.

I did! Thanks, chum.

More importantly my 7 year old loved it, so in many ways: mission accomplished.

Rumble sticks must be gripped tightly when the helicopters arrive with the match ball, the same goes for anyone wearing a wig.
Jake the dog will be back to entertain us a half time in a dance off with Mr Woo, to be judged by June Brown accompanied by the Beard Day Band (Now That's What I call Beard Day 35).
Police horses on standby for a mid match pitch invasion.
Skydivers have been booked in anticipation of getting Luton at home in the cup. Mass Sarr and History Maker Grant Brebner will be in attendance and draw the golden gamble.
Ricky Gervase to tell a few jokes after the match so everyone can claim they went to see him instead of Reading
Kevin Girdler to join the Amazons on the Purple Turtle stage and sing the Royals Anthem non-stop for an hour before kick off
