Clyde1998
Four Of Clubs - in ‘level’ terms the 2 biggest upsets yesterday were (sadly) at Maidenhead v Faversham and Westbury v Oxford City: with the former tie @ York Rd, seeing a team 2 Steps below prevailing away from home.

As mentioned above, Maidenhead had a lot of good chances, but couldn't score. They hit the bar/post in stoppage time and had plenty of chances cleared off the line.

Watching the highlights, I forgot Faversham could've killed the game off though with how chaotic this game was compared to what I'm used to watching Reading ( :lol: ). Fair play to Faversham for getting through this as they fought well throughout.

Need to get to more non-league games this season.

I thought Faversham were in the scefl premier and were the ones who beat se dons to the title last year? Which would make them step 5 of non league i think?

But there must be another Faversham because I remember the one who played SE Dons last year had an extremely stupid American name :lol:

Looking at that league, Faversham Town (who Maidenhead played) won the Premier; Faversham Strike Force won Division One. I'm guessing it was the latter you're thinking of!

Royals and Racers Off to the Slough Town v Welling replay tomorrow. Hopefully a few goals !

...for your sake I hope I'm badly wrong but .... "has the proverbial nil-nil written all over it!" :twisted: :lol:

....might check out the 'Fizzers' tonight (Mon) down at the SB (Bracknell) vs the Polish lads (PFC Victoria) in CCL-1

Tue: really not much choice at all - I'm not a fan of 'cup' weeks :| - which this one seems to be round here.
No 'local' League action apart from in the Isthmian One S-Central
- so an easy option at Ascot vs K's .... but as I'm off this week might make an extra effort to get off the sofa, avoid the Euro stuff and venture out earlier up to Leatherhead v Hartley W or Met Police vs Binfield - not been to either of those for yonks?

Wed: even less on, now Maidenhead Town aren't hosting Finch. in the TVL-P :? - don't know why it's been put back - maybe the 1878 Stadium has another booking?
- so just Henley v Burghfield - but I was only there a couple of weeks back?

Double C Go to chatham and see se dons play one time!

...soz DC/DD :mrgreen: - not a location high on my list of revisits - though is a perfectly serviceable ground
- It's just that for any of the N.Kent coast venues it always involves a bit of an awkward journey from here, even when the Orbital isn't it's usual circular car park - and midweek can be worse. :roll:

...thanks for pointing out the 'Dons' new lodgings - had missed their 'move' to Chatham - barely registered a mention on NLM
- was buried away on a groundsharing thread back in May re-posting an announcement from the 'Chats' TwiX account
Chatham Town
@ChathamTownFC
@SEDonsFC
We have entered into a ground-share agreement with SE Dons, who will make the Bauvill stadium their home for the 2025/26 season.
#UpTheChats

- the post also alluded to an hour-long podcast from the club (SE Dons) , that I assume no-one, not directly involved, had the will to sit through! :lol: .

The Bauvill Stadium seems to be popular for (somewhat illogical) temporary shares of late - Folkestone have used it very recently. Fairly odd: as they'd drive past Maidstone (a far more convenient ground for them) on the way? :?
and just as bizarre ..... Three Bridges have 'borrowed' it before that!
- I saw Ashford United there as 'hosts' just for a Cup game, a couple of years back too - presumably they were re-furbing their own Stadium but have now moved down to 'share' with Hythe? Not sure if they played any more games there in 23-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Might brave the M25 tonight (Tue) after all, for Leatherhead ... or maybe Kings Langley in a clockwise direction.
That's if the re-building works/diversions from Jn 11 onwards, round towards Gatwick, look too grim to take on :|
- I also have a few hours for 'cba-ness' to kick in and the sofa to beckon.
Did SB Stadium last night (Mon) for a 'weird' but enthralling CCL-1 contest - Sandhurst T 3-4 PFC Victoria.
- by 'weird' I meant the social media outlets completely lost track of the scoring sequences, times and scorers themselves.
Was eventually ironed out for the most part - a mad finish too - with the visitors grabbing two goals in stoppage time to turn the game back round again. They led twice then 0-1, 1-2 then trailed 3-2 by the 75 minute.
Royals and Racers Staying local tomorrow
Wallingford & Crowmarsh v Kidlington
5th v 6th
oops :oops: see you copped for a 0-0 this week then?
I was down at homely ol' Krooner Park for 'Cambo' 2-2 Tadley in the CCL-PS - visitors by far the slicker of the two but were poor out of possession and the hosts worked harder
- so it was just about a fair result, thanks to a stoppage time pen. for Camberley.
Some big home defeats for some of our 'local' sides though :
Hungerford walloped 1-5 by Hanwell at Bulpit in SLP-S
- 'Wokkers' were battered 3-6 by VW at Lowther Rd
and Thatcham humbled 2-6 by Knaphill at the Mettall (Waterside) .
Another top flight NL win for Brackley though, 1-0 over Truro.
Basingstoke picked up a big win at Winklebury 4-2 v Yate but Bracknell slipped to another defeat at the SB on Monday night
- this time vs 2-3 Evesham - all the goals in the first 30'.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not much choice tomorrow night (Wed) but if I can drag me'self off the sofa , I might pop up to Beaconsfield again - where the lodgers (Milton Utd) are up against Ardley in the CCL-PN.
The Sh!ts host Yeovil in the National League - not quite sure why they've opted to play on a Wed night now
- and at the other end of the pyramid Henley are due to host Goring at Mill Lane.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not much choice tomorrow night (Wed) but if I can drag me'self off the sofa , I might pop up to Beaconsfield again - where the lodgers (Milton Utd) are up against Ardley in the CCL-PN.
The Sh!ts host Yeovil in the National League - not quite sure why they've opted to play on a Wed night now
- and at the other end of the pyramid Henley are due to host Goring at Mill Lane.
ANOTHER 0-0 !! The highlight was a pint of Atlantic before the game ! Back to B & B Cup next Tuesday- at least there will be goals even if it’s pens !!
TVL –Premier
Newbury Town 3-1 Maidenhead Town – Newbury picking up again after a couple of defeats
Wargrave 1-0 Burghfield – Wargrave in 2nd hand the ‘Fielders’ their first defeat
Woodcote 1-0 Goring United
- last season’s champs Westwood ‘upping the gears now’ put 10 past Finch and are 7 from 7
- I stayed ‘low and local’ making an en route change - thereby rather fortunate to avoid the 0-0 at Stag Meadow.
- Carried on a mile or two down the A308, to an E.Berks League Premier game (and a ‘new tick’) – so one level below the TVL-P :
Old Windsor 6-1 Prestwood
-no facilities to speak off – set in a very well-kept public park - lucky it stayed dry and brightened up considerably later on.
- matches in this division have three officials
– last season’s runners-up were far too strong for a young Prestwood (village N of High Wycombe) – who’ve been ‘scrubbing’ about in the Wycombe and Aylesbury leagues I think, since their Hellenic One days in the 00s
– they’ve recently had a couple of seasons back in the Hellenic 2, before switching over to the E.Berks. They are a bit remote from the other mostly Slough / Burnham – based sides in this league.
