Players at Reading who you had completely forgotten about

To go with our general football one: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=188618

Completely forgot about Saeid Ezatolahi playing for us after playing for Iran at the 2018 World Cup:

Seem to recall he got injured, as he only played four matches for us. Currently at Shabab Al-Ahli Club in the UAE Pro League, where he won the league last season.

At this moment, I can’t remember any of the Reading players I’ve forgotten about.

Just read the Orient thread. Completely forgot that Graham Potter played for us!

A while back I had a go at recent-ish players with common surnames who I reckon most fans would find hard to place. Here's some:

A Smith
N Smith
B Smith
K Jones
S Brown
A Wright
B Roberts
J Young
M Dobson
J Kelly
S Kelly
J Taylor
R Scott

Yep remember all of them.

Alex Smith
Neil Smith
Ben Smith
Keith Jones
Steve Brown
Alam Wright
Ben Roberts
Jamie Young
Martin Dobson
Julian Kelly
Sean Kelly
Jake Taylor
Rashawn Scott

Neil Smith and Steve Brown were the only ones to really make a substantial impact.

I was at Ben Smith's debut (and possibly only appearance?) away to Man City at Maine Rd. Last game of the season, we were 2 up at half time, he came on as a sub for the second half and we lost 3-2.

Very good - by most fans I don't mean most Nobbers!

I had Michael Dobson and Stephen Kelly in mind.

Steve Blatherwick set up Archie's equaliser in the injury time 1-0 down, 2-1 win against McGhee's Wolves where the injury time only occured because of an injury to Gilksey, who was playing for Wolves. I thinks that almost qualifies him for legend status

I'll raise you a Tony Barras. Signed on loan from York, signed permanently, sold to Walsall all in the space of 6 months. Played against us in the 2001 playoff final.

Dean Gordon. Three games on loan from Coventry in 03/04.

His name came up in a game of 'who would you rather have in the current squad' with a mate of mine. He was probably the only player since I started going I had no knowledge of.

I've checked and I was certainly at a game he played (West Brom; where he was subbed on at half-time). He was also on the pitch in that game against Norwich when the referee assisted their winner.

Don't remember a Sean Kelly, but we did have (Irish international) Stephen Kelly for 50 odd games or so.

I think I might be mixing him up with Sean Long.

But I do remember Stephen Kelly.

Former Arsenal defender Steve Morrow. Probably most well known for being dropped by Tony Adams whilst celebrating winning the league Cup, breaking his arm and causing him to miss the FA Cup final a few weeks later.

+1. This one is weird because it's so recent, but I legit don't remember him playing a single game for us.

Was speaking to a Peruvian guy today, so naturally Paulo Hurtado came up.
