tidus_mi2 I'm still unconvinced Hunt will come good, I just feel like we would have started showing some consistent style of play and uptick in results and I've just not been seeing it, we got the result against Orient but it felt we got a bit lucky. Looking forward to the masterclass tomorrow against Stockport after saying this.

Last 5 results DDWLW :?:

It's just objective that there has been an upturn in results

Results have definitely improved but it has also come at a time of playing weaker opposition, at least based on league position and from a personal standpoint, the performances don't really seem to have improved.

And strangely in that time our possesion stats have gone significantly down. Not sure what to make of that really. I don’t think we’ve massively changed how we set up

We play very high tempo and direct mostly, so either we create something or lose it.

Plus, other teams have spent more of the recent games trying to break us down and get ahead, because scorelines have been better. Lincoln (or was it Orient!) Were ahead inside 20 minutes roughly, and never looked in trouble, so didn't need to keep the ball and probe us.

We’re sticking with him like it or not

Despite a reasonable recent record (10 points in 7 games isn’t it?) the performances have been poor

I hope we can get O Connor, Williams, Ritchie fit and starting as I think they’ll add plenty. Get Abrefa and Kelvin E back in starting as well and I think we’ll improve

I'm not sure those players will improve us massively. The issue is we're playing a system that doesn't suit these players. We look so exposed on the full backs every game. Wing has been way off of it this season, so has Savage, we don't work the goalkeeper enough in games and look very poor with decent players for this league. We should be doing better and that's on the manager.

It does worry me that players who have proven in the past to be as good as Savage, Wing, Lane, Doyle have been so poor this year in their all round game. Savage should be bossing this league and looks an absolute shadow

Under Selles, lots of players like Azeez and Mola improved a lot. We're not seeing that now. And new signings like Jacob and Lane were great signings on paper and have been poor.

It wasn’t just under Selles though - Wareham a good example who improved after Selles left. Savage as well

Somethings just not right this year. Maybe it is Gibbs going as well

The big question is - As a team are we improving? Yeah we've drawn a few games does that constitute it coming together?
I'm struggling to see it.

I wonder if we had a owner who'd grown up watching football (like everyone on here!) if he'd be more likely to sack Hunt (I wonder what influence Jacobson has?)

10 games done. Very much the worst in the first 3. Still needs improvement.

5 games more, review again.

We're better than we were under Selles at the start of our first season back in L1.

String a couple of performances and results together and things take off, much like in that first season under Selles. The issue is we just keep conceding stupid soft goals, which makes winning hard.

Currently no significant threat of relegation. Promotion possible, but looking unlikely, so no pressure for a change just yet. A new manager can't bring in any new players, and isn't going to suddenly make us promotion contenders, so it's just a case of wait and see.

Gibbs going certainly hasn’t helped matters. But, the difference between this year and last is stark. We had a team that worked under Seles and was in with a shout of the playoffs. When Noel took over he changed nothing at all and that suited us. For one reason and another that team is no more and Noel has to cast his own shadow on the team. With ten games gone, I still have no idea what sort of goal we are trying to score. I believe we have enough about us to avoid the drop. That is the only target I have for this team this season.

Currently we need 9 points to even get into the playoffs. To slip into the relegation places the teams behind us only need to gain 1 point more than us.

I appreciate it's too early in the season to be worrying about relegation but it is a lot closer than thinking about promotion

Could be 6pts if we win what is a very winnable game in hand. Not remotely thinking of play-offs until we start playing like a play-off team mind.

I'm not thinking about it, just saying it's possible.

you do realise managers don't just buy really good players that will get you promoted don't you? They do other stuff like organise a team to maximise the players ability and impact rather than play the best passer in the team behind the keeper and then wonder why we dont create any chances.

This.

Wing has not had many assists has he? Bar a few moments of brilliance he's been poor and I feel that's more tactical than anything. Especially as Savage, Wifi etc look poor too.

We should never ever be accepting lower mid table in this league. We've only spent 8 years in the 4th tier in our history, with the budget and calibre of players on paper we should be absolutely nowhere near the relegation zone and if we are then the managers position needs to be questioned..

Two away games coming up, one of them Cardiff who are doing well

Fair chance if we don’t win one we’ll be relegation zone again after 12 games

Despite the backing would think Hunt would be under pressure again if this happens

But no chance of relegation. You heard it here first.
