Sutekh Can’t help but feel the integrity of the lower leagues is badly affected by these stupid breaks. Why can’t all these weekends be kept domestically clear with clubs choosing to play or rearrange other fixtures from their calendars on the dates should they wish to do so?
It’s actually a likely bonus for Reading if this game goes ahead as planned but it doesn’t seem right for Exeter, or even Lincoln, who A fully comp’d Exeter gubbed 1-0 at Sincil yesterday.
Oh well! At least it’s not as bad as rugby union I suppose - where club sides are forced to play even if they have whole squads called up.

Indeed. Especially with five games called off this window (four last), there's enough of a scope in League One to say there shouldn't be games over the international break. A lot of League One clubs will have at least one player away across the window, as it covers youth football too. Over the last couple of seasons, it's not been uncommon to have only two or three games going ahead.
We lose Mark O'Mahony to Ireland U21 duty (some will be delighted) and Basil Tuma with Malta. The latter hasn't yet featured for us this season, due to injury, but I wouldn't've ruled out him being O'Mahony's replacement on the bench had he not been away himself now he's fit enough for the U21s.
