Carlisle took over a 1000 to Woking on the opening day of the season, so should travel in numbers for this tie.

They`ve always been a well supported side, they bought a decent following for a Tuesday evening game the last time we played them here 5-1.

I imagine they'll bring a good crowd anyway, but especially with the inevitable £10 tickets and it being the first Saturday game (assuming that's when it falls) against them at the Mad Stad; we haven't played them on a Saturday in Reading for decades.

When Truro made the long trip up there for their league game Carlisle gave all of the Truro supporters a free hot drink.
Maybe we could do the same for the Carlisle fans to show our appreciation for their ticket income and for creating a decent atmosphere.

Surely it would be a better gesture than a fireworks display................................and much cheaper.

I thought the first & second rounds were still regional.

This tie has the Harborough Town feeling written all over it! Carlisle will bring a decent loud following from Cumbria and Noel will play a youthful team due to Carlisle being non league and we get pushed all the way and made to look silly again!!
We need to pay Carlisle plenty of respect as these guys will be better than Harborough Town and currently moving swiftly up the Conference table.
Unlike some of these Mickey Mouse tournaments the FA Cup can payout decent money if you can progress especially with a possible big tie in the third round. The FA Cup has been devalued over the years which is a massive shame as the first, second and third rounds were always one of the biggest highlights and memories as a kid watching Reading.

Carlisle won't bring much. Harborough were a 7th tier side playing an ex PL side; we were the biggest game in their history.

Carlisle played us 2 seasons ago and we're really not much of a big deal to them. Plus they have further to travel.

Is this fixture now definitely confirmed for 15.00 on the 1st, and when do you think they will have the tickets for sale (my daughter is over here from Australia at that time and I'm planning out her activity).

TV Fixtures haven't been picked yet but there's no way they're picking our game.

Don't they randomly move some games to Sunday but still not show them on TV?

Looking at last season, it seems there were a few that were moved but weren't picked for BBC/ITV, not sure the reason though.

The TV game will be Bolton v Huddersfield I expect. Possibly Accrington's trip to Hartlepool or Gainsborough for a NL angle. Newport v Gillingham might get a go too.

I can imagine Swindon's game could get televised as well; they are doing well in L2 (plus they have a "character" as a Manager - always good for the telly - against a L1 side, so potential upset as well........
