scumbag
Brogue Peter O'Rourke reckons Leam Richardson is now the man. :|

8% win rate at his last job as Rotherham boss.

Over the last 24 games of an already woeful Championship campaign. Doesn't sound like a fair crack to me.

Did win promotion from Leage One with Wigan.

SSN reporting Richardson as one of 3 names on the shortlist

That would be an odd choice

"In the frame" does not mean close to appointment, so calm down. Plus the last time he managed in L1 he got promoted.

I'll say it again, if you want an "experienced" manager you have to be willing to accept blots on the CV, otherwise they won't be dropping to L1.

blythspartan I would like Wellens, but I’m certain it’ll be Bloomfield. He was a strong candidate at Blackpool and then he withdrew from the recruitment process. Ian how is Harris doing at Cambridge?

Cambridge continue to be skint and not very good. 13th in L2.

Brogue can we just stop with bringing in managers with hardly any experience ffs. Bloomfield will be a disaster.

:?:

He's managed over 150 games across 3 clubs.

Who have you got in mind Brogue? Ainsworth, Mowbray, Colin?

So a bunch of dinosaurs, serial failures and those out of touch.

oxf*rd no.

It's fine, if not better, at Wigan or Accrington

The only managers we could appoint in L1 with hundreds of games experience are failures, or managers who used to be good and manage at a higher level, but aren't any more.

< 30% is pretty poor
>40% is pretty good
I'd also put a massive asterisk on anything achieved during Covid times.

Coppell's record with us was only the low 40s.

Richardson's record at Wigan is 42%. That's excellent. And across more than 100 games.

Accrington's less good than I eyeballed, admittedly.

Snowflake Royal Coppell's record with us was only the low 40s.

44.68, third out of him, Pardew (48.15) and BMcD#1 (46.05)

BUT only two other managers since then have cracked 40% - Jaap Stam and Selles. I think Hunt's efforts last season were just short of 40%.

You'd support the manager, sure, but can you imagine the sense of underwhelm if we binned off Hunt for someone with that track record.

Noel Hunt was @ 39% last season.. however, less good overall

Leam Richardson? Doesn’t he work with Paul Cook usually? Think I’d prefer Matt Bloomfield, don’t know why - just seems a very odd decision but then Reading’s recent record of managerial appointments is hardly a thing of any beauty.

Is Chris Hughton still a going concern?

Doesn’t seem to be in a job at the moment since being sacked by Ghana last year but don’t think we’d be an attractive prospect for him. All his managerial experience is in the top two divisions.

Richardson certainly did well with Wigan. That Rotherham team he took on was diabolical iirc

But not a name I was expecting. Seen some things saying he was pretty long ball - don’t think we’ve the players for that approach atm

We're not suited to a direct, physical game. CBs will eat it up for breakfast against Marriot. We need a manager who prefers to get us playing through the lines so we can get the ball to Wing/Elliott/Doyle/Ritchie/Lane in threatening positions, then Marriot will thrive off their service.
