Also guess Rob Shay the goalkeeper coach is staying as Leam's backroom boys were defensive and attacking

Just seen that Danny Schofield is named as assistant manager and has previously managed Huddersfield and Doncaster.
James Beattie is listed as coach and has managed Accrington Stanley.
Could be sound appointments.

Snowflake Royal
PieEater Is his name pronounced Leam as in team, or Le-am as in Liam.

If it's the latter I'm with Winston and hate him already.

It's an alternate spelling of Liam.

I hate it.

I expect he has to tell everyone who sees his spelling how to pronounce it, "it's Le-am not Leam".

Like many others I image, I had to Google him to look at his record from previous clubs.

I can see the logic in the appointment -
- Has taken a Club out of a difficult period on a small budget
- Has won this league

Rate that we have an experienced backroom staff.

Just for the millionth time - the kids piping up on Twatter DON'T always represent the views of the entire fanbase. The talk of Carrick coming to a team 19th in League One - GIVE YOUR HEADS A WOBBLE!

He has my support like he should have from everyone.

New era - lets see what he's got for us. Looking forward to his first interview which is surely imminent.

Alright Iain, calm down

Not like he choose it either

He could change it though.

With only two games in 3 weeks he should play the first team against Carlisle

Clearly the owners still expect top 6 this season and so unless he wins most of the games he is in charge - which is unlikely after such a poor summer recruitment - I doubt he will be here by the end of the season.

Googled Leam and came across this.

How do you spell the boy's name Leam?
Originating primarily from Scottish and Irish roots as a variant of Liam (itself derived from the Germanic name William), Leam has developed several spelling variants across different cultures. These include Leem, Leym, and the more phonetically consistent Liem.

IAN, Perhaps you may prefer to call Mr. Richardson, William

The more I see about this the more I like it. Clearly still highly rated by Wigan fans, but even Rotherham fans admit he was just given an impossible situation with them.

Carrick, less experience at managing than Richardson, never got a club promoted, 136 games with Middlesboro then got sacked after 45 wins, 15 draws, and 29 losses, but you know "he is a name" from the Sky premiership.

The fact he was in charge when Rotherham went out of the championship is irrelevant.

When we were in the championship we all remember Rotherham were punching above their weight, little investment and out of their depth.

Well, fair play to him, he's done his research, hitting the 106, PL and C1871 buzzwords.

Loves 'galvanise' doesn't he!

So high tempo, high press still the way we want to go.

Good to hear him saying he'd turned down job offers, and was focusing on family and personal development in his time out.

Could be, but aren’t.

It is Jobs for the boys. All arranged by mutual friend Joe Jacobson. Their CV’s are gash and they were all lost in the wilderness after being abject failures in their last roles.

Cheap though!

This is Reading with f all money sat at the bottom of the third division, think the chances of prising a Glasner from a Palace (or even a Wellens fron an Orient) would be a bit remote and nearly all out of out of work managers were failures in their last roles, that’s why they’re out of work.

Shock horror! New management team know each other from previous encounters at another football club  What is expected here exactly, a completely new set of individuals who don’t really know each other so the club have to work through that dynamic on top of the management having to understand all the new players? Surely the fact they know each other (and therefore must have the same philosophy on the game and presumably can offer different technical and man management skills that they can bring to the TEAM) is a plus as they can somewhat hit the ground running?

Let’s at least give the guy the transfer window and a few games before binning him off as the next clueless Ince/Clement etc.

Criticising Beattie and Schofield for their management record when they've been hired as coaches is pretty special.

Not all coaches make good managers. Not succeeding as a manager doesn't make you a bad coach.

Some people are just determined to be negative.

Yep - as said, when is a manager bringing in his assistants ever not ‘jobs for the boys’ - they always bring in people they know and get on with

Beattie particularly has a wealth of coaching experience and Id assume he is pretty knowledgeable on the striking front which we desperately need. Hopefully he can get Kelvin and MoM scoring. IIRC he scored a ton of premier league goals as a pretty limited player as well
