Losing to villa was always possible and city beating Sunderland was certain so it was always feasible, now let`s see what happens next week when Arsenal host Wolves and city travel to Palace, it`s only early December, no team has ever won the league before Christmas.LUX wrote:Plus one re Villa, definitely my first choice.
Arsenal cannot throw it away surely?

Following Wenger with a massive rebuild required was always going to be a tough gig initially. Same applies to Moyes at Utd to a lesser degree. Set up to fail before they bring in a more trendy “super coach”

It has ever been thus, see our Peterborough fixtures too. I like to think it's the fixture planners yearning for the days when teams used to play someone on Boxing Day and the reverse fixture was on the 27th! But this is as close to that as they can get away with these daysSanguine wrote:General fixture question - does anyone know why there is always a club that someone plays twice in a few weeks, around Xmas? For Villa, it's Arsenal, who they play twice in December. Liverpool host Leeds on New Years' Day having played them yesterday. Surely the fixtures could be run in broadly the same order in the second half of the season?

Crazy to think John McGinn could win the premier league and World Cup in the same yearSutekh wrote:Be great to see Villa win the titleBRO_BOT wrote:Currently, 3 points between Arsenal, City, and Villa.South Coast Royal wrote:Watched the Villa v Arsenal game.
You wouldn't have known Arsenal were playing anybody else the amount of gushing that the commentator did about them.
He kept on about their movement when through midfield Villa's movement and creation of space was better IMHO.
On the balance of play I thought Villa just about edged it with the chances made and near misses and fortunately the result means that Arsenal are not now well clear at the top especially with City seemingly cruising to victory this afternoon.
Some run Villa have been on since that awful start (Aug to end of Sept)

Why Brentford?SouthDownsRoyal wrote:Having not seen the table in a while, things that surprised me.
Just how close it is at the top, I thought apart from Arsenal the others were further back.

I’m no fan of Leeds but I like to see ‘established’ premier league teams get relegated so pleased to see they have picked up a few points.
I’d love West Ham to go down, Brentford and Fulham, I’ve nothing against but as a neutral seeing others being drawn into the mix would make it interesting.
Championship wise, Norwich really are in a spot of bother![]()
Pompey / Oxford happy to see either or both go

Everton in a false position-they will struggle to make the top half IMHO and what a dull side they are to watch.SouthDownsRoyal wrote:Having not seen the table in a while, things that surprised me.
