I'm more dubious about being able to recall Patton from his loan rather than the Marriott injury!

Maybe this will be the moment where we start playing good football instead of just relying on Marriott.

That's the only positive way to spin this, a potentially season ending injury not just for Marriott but also the club as we are all aware how reliant we have been on his goals.

I'd like to shrug it off as just a dumb rumour on Twitter but the source has a pretty high accuracy with his rumours.

Marriott did go off with that back spasm, but wasn't that vs Bolton, not Vale?

Maybe he needed a rest and exacerbated it. But it seems odd he'd suddenly be out over two months having played 85 minutes and seeming ok on Tuesday.

I'll believe it when the team's announced without him.

Is this twitter source a reliable source?

Well, shit.

Probably for the best, gives us a nice excuse for the inevitable failure to make the POs with or without him.

Real shame to lose him

I’ve thought for a while that as a team we may play better without him as I’m sure the regulars know - so let’s see

Marriott injury uncertain currently, possible hamstring after last week on a very heavy pitch. They are still waiting for the diagnosis, he is, currently, NOT out for the season. Awaiting medical report.

If he does turn out to be done for the season then someone in our physio team may just have been outed as the leaker.

Jack did a hammy against Port Vale and out for the coming weeks, Roberts is out 4 to 6. with the same injury but it probably depends on the severity

Marriott’s hamstring injury is complex still no idea as to a possible return. Nyambe, Keane and Young all very doubtful for Luton while Kyerewaa is scheduled to see a specialist next week.

It feels like we've had perpetual injury crises for a decade except under Selles. It's not a coincidence. LR talks a lot about the importance of fitness and a good pre season, so hopefully next season is better.

Any chance we see Rinomhota again this season? Could've done with him last night.

I’m 99% sure some solid statistical research has been done on this topic, as injuries are highly likely to follow some well-understood probability distributions.

Anyway, if we’re chopping and changing managers, buying players that haven’t really fulfilled their potential, having to over-use key players, yes, all of those would contribute to higher injury rates.

Richardson said at the fans' forum that he isn't injured (he's been playing for the U21s after all), but wasn't being selected as other players are currently fitter than him. He'll probably end up on the bench at some point, but I can't see him having anything like the impact we were all hoping for when he signed.

it is a shame he isn't match fit, seems like just the type of player we need in midfield.

Young is also fully fit, just not being selected.

Which is really strange as the gaffer mentioned missing Kyerewaa is having a big effect on how they want to play! so why waste a loan on Young if he's not good enough? makes no sense. Very much like Rinhomota, how long does it take to get fit? The guy must have been fit, however i understand there's a difference between fit and match fit but surly you'll only get match fit through playing games which he has been in the U21's.
The gaffer mentioned not having Championship caliber player's yet Rinhomota was Cardiffs player of the season last year in the Championship? I feel he's exactly the type of player our midfield is currently missing and must be worth a shout on the bench.
