bakerlou I can remember Scott Howie being subbed off at HT (by Pardew IIRC) in an away game at Wycombe. Bringing on Peter van der Kwaak as his replacement only seemed to make it worse. I don't remember Howie playing again, not for us at least. Wycombe played native American war chant music after each goal they scored (they got five that day).

Yeah, that's the only time I can ever remember seeing a 'keeper subbed off (other than injury) in what will be 50 years of football watching next month.

I remember seeing an instance when it *should* have happened - when Federici let in three in the first six minutes at home to Man Utd in the FA Cup in 2007 - especially as Marcus was on the bench that day.

Double C Spurs va Lincoln next season

Last time they were in the 2nd tier, 1977/78, they had to play Mansfield Town, who had a once-in-a-lifetime season in the old division 2

Mind you I can also remember Manchester City playing Macclesfield in League One, before the £ood times came back

tbf you put out a weakened team, who weren't very good. You should really have been battered, but fought back and were a crossbar away from equalising

What you've written is irrelevant to Dirk's point - Federici let in three very soft goals in succession very early in the match which on another day he would have saved comfortably. It was like he was over-awed, and yes a harder / harsher manager could conceivably have taken him off at 3-0
