Royals and Racers New date for the Hungerford v Chesham QF is Tuesday 10th March KO 7.45pm

Finally arrived- looking forward to a decent pint and a entertaining match, and by 9.45pm tonight we will know our semi-final opponents.
Hungerford 0 Chesham 1 17 mins
1-1 23 mins
1-2 27 mins
H-T 1-2
2-2 53 mins
3-2 61 mins
F-T 3-2
My hopes satisfied, pint of old speckled hen, 5 goals and we now know it’s Hungerford v Reading in the Semi-final.
Problem is finding a date before the final on Tuesday 14th April. My best guess would be W/C 6th April but Hungerford have a league match on Easter Monday.

Don’t think they can expect us to play Monday / Thursday/ Saturday. Apparantly the date for the final is not moveable. We also have a game on Good Friday which makes the previous week difficult. I have no idea what the priorities are, I believe County Cups actually rank higher than almost all other competitions and presumably any Reading U21 fixtures rank below Hungerford first team fixtures in terms of moving them.
I have a suspicion Reading might withdraw from the competition….

The joke is that we have been waiting 3 months for the semi and had to play at Maidenhead in the QF on a night the 1st team were at home !!!!

Chesham have the difficult situation where FOUR teams share their ground. No wonder they end up with lots of postponements.

Looking at the dates of our development fixtures and Hungerford's games:
  1. Fri 13 Mar - U21 vs West Ham (A; Premier League 2)
  2. Sat 14 Mar - U18 vs Crystal Palace (H; U18 Premier League) / Weymouth (A; Southern Prem South)
  3. Sun 15 Mar
  4. Mon 16 Mar
  5. Tue 17 Mar - U18 vs Birmingham (H; U18 Premier League)
  6. Wed 18 Mar
  7. Thu 19 Mar
  8. Fri 20 Mar - U21 v Man Utd (H; Premier League 2)
  9. Sat 21 Mar - U18 vs Chelsea (A; U18 Premier League) / Sholing (H; Southern Prem South)
  10. Sun 22 Mar
  11. Mon 23 Mar
  12. Tue 24 Mar - Slough vs Wycombe (Berks & Bucks SF)
  13. Wed 25 Mar - U21 vs Blackburn (A; Premier League Cup)
  14. Thu 26 Mar
  15. Fri 27 Mar
  16. Sat 28 Mar - Tiverton (A; Southern Prem South)
  17. Sun 29 Mar
  18. Mon 30 Mar - U21 vs Sunderland (A; Premier League 2)
  19. Wed 1 Apr - U18 vs Tottenham (H; U18 Premier League)
  20. Thu 2 Apr
  21. Fri 3 Apr - Havant (H; Southern Prem South)
  22. Sat 4 Apr - U18 vs West Ham (A; U18 Premier League)
  23. Sun 5 Apr
  24. Mon 6 Apr - Berkhamstead (A; Southern Prem South)
  25. Tue 7 Apr
  26. Wed 8 Apr
  27. Thu 9 Apr
  28. Fri 10 Apr
  29. Sat 11 Apr - U18 vs Norwich (A; U18 Premier League) / Basingstoke (H; Southern Prem South)
  30. Sun 12 Apr
  31. Mon 13 Apr - U21 vs Derby (H; Premier League 2)
  32. Tue 14 Apr - Berks & Bucks Cup final
  33. Wed 15 Apr
  34. Thu 16 Apr
  35. Fri 17 Apr
  36. Sat 18 Apr - U18 vs Southampton (H; U18 Premier League) / Dorchester (H; Southern Prem South)
The obvious gap is the week starting 6 April, although that date is Easter Monday.

Hungerford play on Easter Monday, so perhaps Wednesday 8 April or Thursday 9 April would be the only viable date, but that would see Hungerford play two games in three games.

Why does the B&B FA make a rod for their own back? Why is the date for the final not moveable? It’s hardly the FA Cup final, it’s a minor cup virtually nobody cares about outside of the clubs that reach the latter stage. Other competitions have been known to even hold finals over the the start of the following season if necessary.

I know several officials at the B & B FA and none of them have told me that the final cannot be moved. Obviously they have a contract with Slough Town to hire the stadium but if the stadium was available on another day i would think they would be flexible.

We have been told the date can’t be moved.
I suspect it would be rejected by us if we are told to play the week of 6/4 given we play on the Friday, Monday and Saturday already and our players have to fit in jobs as well ! We’re in need of league points and clubs at this level don’t carry big squads. Reading have enough players to put out a team any day even if it clashes with another game.
Tues 17/4 seems the obvious date as there are no clashes for several days each side….ruling out an u21 game because of an u18 game seems mad….actually scrap that idea, we have another cup final on the 17th so that’s not an option

Just came on here to ask about a possible date - reading the replies it seems to be a right mess.

I do hope a date can be sorted as looking forward to a visit to Bulpit Lane

...was at this too - congrats to WW on retaining the B&B Trophy -seem to be steamrollering on to 3 successive League Titles - were far too quick and powerful for their MK oppos.

Plus well done to Boca Berks who won their first piece of County Silverware the following night, at what must have been a very damp and soggy Holyport - edged out FC Beaconsfield 1-0 in the B&B SUNDAY Trophy - att also in the low 200s.
The wet-stuff put me off - so I stayed sofa-bound.
