"Stoke defender Ryan Shotton has been charged with assault after an alleged nightclub brawl that left a man needing stitches in his head.

Shotton, 23, the Potters’ young player of the year last season, is alleged to have thrown a punch in a fight outside the Pink nightclub in Hanley, Staffordshire.

He is due to appear in court on Friday."

Brighton footballers plead not guilty to sex assault
Three Brighton and Hove Albion players and a Bournemouth footballer have pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman, and voyeurism.

Anton Rodgers, 19, Lewis Dunk, 20, George Barker, 20, all from Brighton; and Steve Cook, 21, of St Leonards; appeared before Lewes Crown Court.

The alleged incident happened at the Jury's Inn hotel, in Brighton, in July 2011.

The four, who were released on bail, will face a trial on 21 January 2013.

Not arrested (yet?) but Reading Old Boy Adam Bygrave has been sacked by Farnborough.

The club have today announced that Adam Bygrave has been fined the maximum two weeks wages and had his contract terminated with immediate effect.

Adam has accepted this evening that he has made numerous racist, disabled and paedophile based comments on social networking sites which are totally unacceptable in any walk of life.

The club have acted swiftly having only found out of the accusations late last week, taken legal advice, spoken with the Football Association and confronted the player today.

Farnborough Football Club is committed to its community roots and it will not accept such behaviour or actions from any of its employees or supporters, we do believe though that this is a totally isolated incident.

The club will make no further comment on this issue.

Agent Willie McKay given a further 18 month driving ban for driving while disqualified while also possessing cocaine. Last month he was caught driving while disqualified while talking on a mobile phone.

18 month ban deffo sounds like it will have the required impact on him
