Alex Pearce is in line to make his 200th start for the Royals tomorrow as Charlton visit the Madejski Stadium. As well as 199 starts in league and cup Pearce has also made 11 appearances from the subs bench and scored 15 goals in his Reading career that began when he signed professional in July 2006.

His debut came in January 2007 when Reading won 3-2 against Burnley in the FA Cup, when he came off the bench to replace Ingimarsson for the last 15 minutes. He also spent loan spells at Northampton, Bournemouth, Norwich and Southampton in 2007 and 2008, notching up a further 41 starting appearances and 6 from the bench.

Pearce will be expected to line up alongside Hector this weekend after Anton Ferdinand was ruled out due to a calf injury he picked up on Tuesday. Ferdinand lasted just 45 minutes when making his debut for Reading but got great reviews from Reading fans before he was forced to be swapped at the break. Reading's improved defensive performance held for the rest of the game as Reading kept a second clean sheet in three games. The 3-0 victory was the second consecutive win at home by that score line. Those two wins followed a winless run of 7 fixtures, and Reading will now be looking to build home form after struggling away from home all season.

Reading will be hoping to carry on from last season against Charlton. Last term Reading won 1-0 both home and away with Billy Sharp scoring the home goal and Danny Williams scoring at Charlton.
